John Wheeler is an experienced real estate and hotel developer, operator and adviser, who has worked throughout Europe for more than 40 years. He brings a wealth of real estate experience and an extensive network of contacts to the Group, further bolstering its ability to source and execute deals.
John has been CEO of &Hotels since January 2004. In 1985, John was founder and managing director of Regus, the serviced office group. The first Regus was a 46,000 sq ft renovation and conversion in Trafalgar Square. Projects followed in Rue du Faubourg St. Honore, Paris; Strandvagen, Stockholm: Larsjbornstraede, Copenhagen; Serrano, Madrid; Lisbon and Beijing.
Chief Executive Officer
Robert Whitton founded Affinity Global Real Estate in 2012. As Chief Executive Officer, Robert is responsible for the Group's performance through his operating team at Affinity Global Advisers.
In 2007, Robert co-founded ROM Capital and launched a £400 million UK Opportunity Fund with Lloyds Banking Group Plc. ROM Capital built a diverse portfolio of property assets in the UK, including the development of Everton Football Club’s new Training Academy and managed assets worth over £900m for Credit Suisse, NAMA, AIB and others.
In 2003, he co-founded aAIM Group Plc with City Financier Mark Tagliaferri (formally of Nomura Principle Finance) in which Sir Alex Ferguson and Simon Cowell among others became founding shareholders. Under his leadership as CEO from 2003-2007, aAIM transacted over £3.5 billion of property deals in the UK and Europe and built a large and diverse portfolio through financial engineering and syndication.
Mark Felton has over 20 years of leadership and advisory experience in the real estate business. With specific expertise and a successful track record in residential and commercial property finance and management, Mark leads the advisory team and brings his network to bear in sourcing and closing new deals.
Mark has previously worked in advisory roles for HSBC, RMC International and Raminova, a partnership of the Ramirez construction family and Caixa Nova Bank.
Martin Myers qualified as Chartered Accountant in 1978 and became a member of the Institute of Taxation in 1979. He has been a partner in a firm of Practising Chartered Accountants since 1980, and has been Senior Partner since 1997.
With over 34 years of involvement general taxation issues in businesses of all sizes, Martin also brings 15years’ experience of syndicated residential development in London’s West End. Martin is an experienced non-executive director and brings extensive corporate governance experience to the Affinity group of companies.
Chief Commercial Officer
Mark Halama joined Affinity in July 2015 to lead on progressing and enforcing the commercial strategy and development of the Company. Mark was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1988 and has 20-years’ experience specialising in heavyweight commercial and project contracts having technology and intellectual property rights at their core.
Mark has specialised in advising institutions, corporations and high net worth individuals, operating predominantly within the financial services, manufacturing, media & technology and property sectors. Until 2014, Mark was a partner at law firm Marriott Harrison located in the City of London and until recently was Head of Commercial at Delta Capita.
Chief Financial Officer
Eva is a chartered Management Accountant with a substantial financial background of over 15 years, specialising in property investment and asset management. She has worked for Robert Whitton since 2007 and today she is accountable for the development of financial and operational strategies, metrics tied to those strategies, and the on going development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve assets for Affinity Global Real Estate and its extended clients. Heading the financial department as CFO, Eva overlooks the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company and its services.
Eva joined the aAIM Group Plc in 2007 as part of the team which transacted over £3.5 billion of property deals in the UK and Europe and built a large and diverse portfolio through financial engineering and syndication.
Managing Director of Affinity Sunny Way
David Wei is a well-known and respected figure in the UK Chinese community and in China as an expert in Real Estate investment. He came to the UK over 20 years ago to study and completed his law degree and finance degree and an MBA in International Business. David then spent his early career at The Shanghai Foreign Investment and Development Board, followed by the Chinese Civil Service.
David is currently President of the Chinese Landlord Association (CLA), an organisation created to protect the interests of Chinese Landlords and Investors in the UK. The CLA has a membership of approximately 1,500.
David is the Managing Director of Affinity Sunny Way, which deals with overseas investment and fund management, and Chairman of Affinity Home Construction which deals with construction projects in the UK. He is also a regular columnist in a number of publications in the UK and Chinese media.
